Maria started her musical studies when she was 8 years old at Professional Conservatoire “Jacinto Guerrero” in Toledo (Spain). After finishing her piano studies with Ludmil Angelov, she felt very interested about singing and starts private tuition with Elvira M. Padín. María moved to Salamanca (Spain) in 2003 where she completed her degree in Ethnomusicology and carried on singing with Teresa Loring. In 2006 she went to Newcastle University (England) with an Erasmus Scholarship and completed afterwards a Master in Music Performance (MMUS) with Richard Wistreich. After that, she wanted to focus in the Early Music repertoire, therefore she  studied at the Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen (Germany) where she completed both Masters of Early Music Singing and Chamber Music with teachers Maria Cristina Kiehr, Gundula Anders  and Jan Van Elsacker.

Maria has also accomplish several singing courses with Richard Levitt, David Mason, José Hernández and Lambert Climent (Academia de Música Antigua de Salamanca); she has been involved in Early Music projects working with historical instruments, such as lute and spanish vihuela (Renaissance repertoire), as well as many recitals from 2008 with coach Anthony Davie around the North East of England. Maria attended many Masterclasses with Isabel Rey (Zumaia, 2006); Alison Pearce (Royal Academy London, 2008); and Peter Harrison (International Carmona Opera Course, Carmona, 2009).

As a soloist, María has a wide performance experience. She has sung some opera roles, such as Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro by W. A. Mozart (Festival Internacional de las Artes de Castilla y León – 2005); Donna and Sirenne in Rinaldo by Handel with Company Newcastle Area Chamber Opera – Newcastle 2007); or Mrs. Peachum in the Three Penny Opera  by Kurt Weil. María has experience in sacred music and early music above all: C. Monteverdi Vespers of the Blessed Virgin, many W. A. Mozart masses, J. S. Bach Cantatas, Couperin Leçons de Ténèbres, Vivaldi Gloria, Handel Messiah, etc.

Maria has also experience working in choirs: the Bach Choir in Newcastle conducted by Eric Cross (2007-2008), Cantus et Musica in Freiburg (2010-2012), Antología de la Zarzuela in Madrid since 2009 (projects in Qatar with Plácido Domingo), Philarmonischerchor München since 2016 (conducted by Zubin Mehta and Valery Gergiev). She also works often with early music ensembles, such as Musica Ficta (Madrid-Raúl Mallavibarrena), Vocal ensemble Affetti (München) and she founded the ensemble La Gallarda in 2016 (Trossingen). María works as well regularly with the ensemble Rififi in Trossingen and the conductor Fritz Krämer in Switzerland.

Currently Maria lives in Germany and works as a concert singer, music teacher and choir conductor.
